From December 16th to 17th was held Arles’ Maximus Cup with a Fifa 18 tournament with 32 players. Among them, the Genius Fahémy “Famsinho” Soule, the man who will lift the tournament’s cup 48 hours later.
The last time a Begenius’ jersey was spot at Arles was during PxL Lan CS:GO #44, where we prevailed with our team led by AmaneK, currently playing for Misfits.
The tournament will be hard considering players like Epsilon Mence, Sy Sosaan, LDLC’s new players but also belgian, spanish and portuguese players will attend. The drawing for our Genius : A LDLC player, a Royal Excel Mouscron player, a spanish player from Movistar Andonii and Vitality Nino, a local player. Noylls, Billel and Enzo are three other players that integrate the group.
Fahémy begins with a crushing victory 7/1 against the belgian player from Mouscron. The streak continues with a second victory 2/0 against Billel but it couldn’t be easy from A to Z, and the spanish player Andonii beats Famsinho 4/1. Our player was expecting a better performance from himself, and he shows that will with a victory 6/1 against Nino, another victory 3/2 against Ulquiorra and two wins against Enzo and Noylls, 4/1 2/0.
After a great group phase, Fahémy is second with 6 victories, a defeat and the best attack of the group with 25 goals. The first day will end on the round of 16’s game against Lesminho. The Genius corners his opponent and give all the hits : two victories 5/0 and 6/1 against a worthy opponent.
When you know about the competition’s result, you can tell the real finale was really the game between Famsinho and LDLC Alexher. In this game, the LDLC player take the advantage with a 3/2 victory against our Genius but our player has an iron will and penalty kicks gives the result on the two next games. For the first penalty kicks session, Famsinho leaves no chance to his opponent with two balls deviated by the goalkeeper. The second session is harder as both of the players’ goalkeepers have to shoot for the eleventh shot. And while Famsinho’s goalkeeper scores, Alexher’s missed the opportunity.
During the semi finale, Famsinho plays against Run Run, a portuguese player from a team called For The Win. The games are truly one sided and our Genius reaches the Grand Finale with no further comments. Famsinho will play against Andonii, the only player he lost to during the group phases.
The finale’s room is getting more and more crowded and our player reaches the stage listening to his coaches and friends’ advices. The stage is set and it’s a mirror match up as both of the player picked France National Team. The first game is tight, but the spanish made a few mistakes and Famsinho gets the best out of it, which grant him a goal within the 20 last minutes of the game, it’s a victory 1/0 for our Famsinho. The second game is basically the same thing, but the other way around. Fahémy listens to his coachs and come back even after a few tactical changes. The game will go for a third game and Famsinho quickly takes the advantage, which leads the Movistar’s player to play more aggresively and create breaches in his defense. Fahémy takes advantage of this and step up with 3 goals for a victory 5/1.
Famsinho wins the Maximus Cup’s 2500€ and finally showed he could reach the top of a good level competition. The Genius once again prevail in the Arles’ Palais des Congrés Chabaud Room with this great victory.
We would like to thank all of people around Maximus Cup for the atmosphere and the organisation that were both great, which is not often the case everywhere. Of course, BeGenius ESC will attend future competitions and, who knows, maybe on different games.
