Today’s interview will be with Maxence ‘Gimli’ Grouhan, as they’re getting prepared for their game that could led to the Pro League.
Hey mate ! For the people that aren’t familiar with your team, could you tell us what you’re playing in the Team and your pre-BeGenius’ history ?
Hey Geniuses. My name is Maxence ‘Gimli’ Grouhan, the current team manager, and my job is to make sure the team players’ only focus is directed to the game. I’ll handle the rest.
Before BeGenius, I was a CS:GO manager at E-Corp and Wysix. Then, after a little break to think about where i’m headed to, i arrived on this scene that keeps on progressing and are globally nice people to get along with.
How did your integration go in the BeGenius’ staff : Did the Staff Members and the gear provided by our sponsors meet your expectations ?
BeGenius is a well known group and i was expecting serious and professional skills from them. That’s exactly what i got from them, they’re following every scene very closely, i don’t have to ask for the communication around the different events, all the staff members are great and you could easily tell it’s just like a big family :).
The sponsors are great, the players can play with a great setup that are way higher than our expectations.
Can you tell us about your journey through the Challenger League and what you thought about it.
So far, our Challenger League is a clean sheet, we were lucky enough that our progression was made with nice conditions. We also win a bunch of tournaments aside, and these victories work as a fuel and boost us for the important games.
There’s no reason to not mention it aswell, but our players have a lot of experience, which could be the reason we have a nice advantage.
You qualified to play for the next step : The Pro League ! How do you handle the pressure around this kind of event approaching ?
I’m deeply convinced that we are ready to play this game and reach the Pro League. We are training a lot and enhance what used to be our weaknesses.
We also have the chance to play this game in the nicest conditions as BeGenius granted us with a BootCamp and that’s an important thing. I would like to thank you a lot for the opportunity.
With a lot of victories in Go4 and Cups FR, you’ve become the team to bring down. On the other side, you’re also going through a great path in the Challenger League and you may reach the Pro League. If you were to reach the Pro League, what would be the changes for you? (Game times, trainings, IRL)
Were we to reach the Pro League (And i’m pretty confident about the statement), the game times will be more professional and planned.
We will indeed be sub-engaged in a professional contract, and our training will have to be more often, i actually intend on bringing a system i designed myself 🙂
IRL, it can change of course, the contracts will make differences in our life, we will have to be more focused and avoid going out before important games.
Thanks for answering our questions, do you have anything left you want to say to our readers ?
Thanks for this interview, i’d like to thank the BeGenius staff that helps us evolving in the best possible conditions.
I’d like to address my thanks to our sponsors aswell : ACER, Eaton, Nacon.
Thanks to the players for being who they are, and for trusting me entirely.
